An Infinity of Uniquenesses

I found an old drawing I did in 2008. It is a quote Barbara Blackman (one of Australia’s great figures in the world of the arts) made while she was being interviewed.

When asked about God, Barbaras' reply was:

"I think I know what God is, in fact, I know I know God. Everything in nature and in the universe is an infinity of uniquenesses – No two leaves are the same, no two people are the same – an infinity of uniquenesses. And the origin and source of this is what is conveniently called God. And the whole world and everything in it is God making himself known to himself, through love."

I'm not religious, but I liked this :)

The entire interveiw, which I loved, can be found here.

Here is a February desktop calender for you to download.
This year is all about painting for me, so I am going to use paintings in my calenders.

New Painting

Here is a painting I recently finished. It makes me think of the conversation and ideas that come up over a cup of coffee (and I do love a good coffee!)

~Coffee Break~

When I began this painting I had no idea what I was going to do, and it changed a lot -
so below is the work in progress:

I have also finished 7 small paintings, soon to be posted. Also I have almost finished a mural:

The photo is not too good, I took it in the afternoon with the sun shining on it. Unfortunately it doesn't capture the perfect day... sunshine, music and cold beverage I was enjoying while doing it!
The wall that the mural is on  is next to an outdoor bath in a lovely plant-filled courtyard :)

Making Patterns

I came across this great tutorial on Design Sponge on how to generate repeat patterns. I have tried a few methods which I have not been happy with, so thanks little bird big city for letting me know about this :)

So now I have a new obsession, something to help me create the wallpaper and fabrics I have been dreaming of making, here is a pattern I made using one of my drawings...
